Company Kannon Dance Company was formed in 1999 from
a group of students of Nataly Kasparova.
The company receives intensive and versatile technique training
and has a repertory that reflects its open position to working with other people int he dance worlds.
The company dances choreography by Nataly Kasparova as well as Danny Burazceski (USA), Jon Lehrer (USA), Sari Lievonen (Finland), Eric Boone (USA), Rick Odums (France), Pasqualina Noel (France). Kannon Dancers regularly and successfully perform at various dance events, festivals and competitions in Russia and abroad. Company’s recent awards and recognitions include Praga Prize festival in April 2000 (1 prize in three nominations), Young Choreographers contest in Burghausen Germany in March 2001 (1st and 2nd prize), performances at dance festivals in Yekaterinburg, St.-Petersburg, Moscow, a full-evening performance at California Summer Dance University in Fresno, CA.
In Nov. 2002 Company was invited by Mariinsky (Kirov) theater as a quest dance group to perform in 2 new operas (music by Wagner, director V.Mirsoev, choreography Kim Frank (Canada)). In Sep.2003 Kannon Dance toured in US with performances and master classes.
